About this product:
PLAN B emergency contraceptive, commonly known as a morning-after pill, is a contraceptive used after unprotected sex or when another birth control type fails. It is not for routine use.

Plan B is in the form of two levonorgestrel (a synthetic hormone) pills that are taken by mouth after unprotected sex. The first dose should be taken within 72 hours (of unprotected sex) followed by the second dose 12 hours later.

Plan B can reduce a woman's risk of pregnancy by 89% when taken exactly as directed.

Do not think of Plan B as your regular method of birth control. It does not provide long-term protection against future pregnancy it only works to prevent this one incident. Speak with your doctor to find the method of birth control that best suits your needs.
